Eulalie's Sky

When I acquired this piece I knew it was a perfect candidate for Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint!

So I mixed up some Eulalie's Sky!
A Beautiful Color that totally changed the look of this piece

Loved both knobs! the cut glass knobs gave this piece a bit of Glam!

However, I sold a bunch of them and ended up not having enough for the entire piece!

So White porcelain wins! I love how they add that natural vintage charm! combined with the natural chippiness of Milk Paint! A true Vintage Gem!!

I Love this old school desk!

converted into a planter! As soon as I saw it I knew it would be great in the shop!

I had been making some sample boards with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Artissimo!so... put a quick coat on this!

I think it compliments the pumpkins I painted and the sprigs of Bay Berries!
Loving using Milk Paint since our training! I started this bureau with Eulalie's sky

And I am loving the instant gratification!

Chippiness Galore!!
Stayed tuned for finished piece!!

Nesting Tables Transformed!

Scored these cute little Nesting Tables at a yard sale!

I painted them with a sample of Paint sent to me by
Powder River Paint.  It is a mineral base paint, so I was able to paint right over these shiny tables

It is a little thinner than some other chalk paints I have tried but covered the tables nicely! I love the color! not the greatest pictures but a very pretty blueish color!

After painting I went over the tables with an Antique glaze and wiped them with Miss Mustard Seed Hemp oil.  I have been reading a lot about people using Hemp oil over chalk paint instead of wax.  So I gave it a try!  I love the way the Tables came out! I think they will be great accent pieces!

Ebonizing

Of course once again I forgot to take before pics!

But you get the idea from the legs of this table!

A typical Varnished drop leaf table!

I sanded it down to the bare wood!

Made a mixture of steel wool and vinegar!

Put several coats of this on the top of the table, this is called "Ebonizing"
After the solution set in I did a wash of watered down white chalk paint! so it kind of looks like "Driftwood!"
I dropped it off to the artist who did this sand dollar on this table! I can't wait to see what she does next! I will keep you posted!!

This is a very solid old piece!
However it was badly stained on top and a little bit smelly!
Almost forgot to take "before" pics!
I hardly ever paint anything black!

but this being such a masculine piece it needed a strong solid color!

moved it into the shop to start some Fall Vignettes

I love the little bit of distressing and the "new" vintage glass knob
A Strong solid Finish for this Old Sturdy Piece!
